Lake Como

Castello Visconti - 3 star historical
Description

The Castle is located in the heart of an elegant village, lying in the surroundings of a breathtaking park. The existence of the Castle dates back to the 11th century. It was destroyed in the 13th century during the war between Milan and Como.

Several unimportant Italian proprietors followed in the latest years during which the building was reduced to a miserable condition. Only a small part of the structure was kept alive and hosted a recording house during the '70 and '80.

Recently, a company bought the Castle and finally reconstruction started over again, with great effort, turning the Castle into a 4 Star hotel with 58 rooms. Beautiful frescos ornate the ground floor rooms and a perfect harmony between tradition and modern taste is being slowly achieved.
